Siemens EDA interview with Suk Lee, of Intel Foundry at DAC 2024

At DAC 2024, Michael Buehler-Garcia of Siemens EDA interviews Suk Lee, VP & GM of the Ecosystem Technology Office at Intel Foundry at DAC 2024.

Intel Foundry launched in February 2024 as the first systems foundry for the AI era. They unveiled a roadmap and new Intel Foundry Advanced System Assembly and Test (ASAT) capabilities. They even had a stable of ecosystem partners with validated tools, flows and IP ready for customers. In this interview, Buehler-Garcia asks Suk Lee what's happened since their coming out event.

Lee mentions the new collaboration between Siemen and Intel Foundry to deliver new tool certifications and embedded multi-die interconnect bridge (EMIB) enablement for 3D ICs. The partners recently certified Siemens’ new Solido™ SPICE, part of Solido™ Simulation Suitesoftware for the foundry’s Intel 16 and Intel 18A nodes.

Lee continues with a discussion of what Intel Foundry has going on at DAC. "We are talking about all the collaboration we've done with our ecosystem partners to support our semiconductor technologies, as well as showing further proof points on the deliver of our EMIB reference flow," says Lee.

Buehler-Garcia adds that Siemens is doing a joint session with Microsoft Azure at the Intel Foundry booth about Workbench, which offers a fast debug option for designers. Lee says Intel Foundry has a cloud alliance and also a USMAG Alliance to support military, aerospace and government applications.

Lee and Buehler-Garcia agree that it's an exciting time in the semiconductor industry. Tune in to the interview to learn more.
