A methodology for ESD protections with Calibre PERC

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a menace to electronics, causing billions of dollars in losses to the industry. It means ESD protections are key elements of a design, but working on them is a complex task and, often, these protections are checked through a long-time non-automatic inspection increasing the probability to miss design flaws. An engineer from Allegro Microsystems reviews the methodology for automatically verifying the presence of a robust ESD path using Caliber PERC that meets the Human Body Model (HBM) requirements, reducing man-hours and decreasing the probability of error.
