Using Nucleus Hypervisor for infotainment and AUTOSAR consolidation on a single ECU

Utilizing virtualization in automotive software architecture provides a better approach when taking on the complexities of cockpit domain design

Current approaches used to tackle the complexities in cockpit domain units are both cost prohibitive and lacking in performance. Utilizing virtualization in automotive software architecture provides a better approach when taking on these complexities. This can be achieved by encapsulating different heterogeneous automotive platforms inside virtual machines running on the same hardware. This approach not only provides a more efficient way of communication and reduces the cost of adding a dedicated microcontroller to each platform. It also reduces the development cost by reusing legacy platforms as encapsulated virtual machines without the need for new adaptation efforts.
