Modeling infusion mixing in the bloodstream

In this study, Genentech employs Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulence modeling with Simcenter M-Star to simulate the flow and mixing of infusions in the bloodstream, aiming to improve the understanding of these adverse events. The results, which closely match benchtop tests, explore how varying fluid dynamics, needle orientation, and needle positioning affect infusion mixing, providing insights for developing safer intravenous formulations.
