Validating shake flasks as scale-down models for bioreactors

In this study by Delft University of Technology, M-Star CFD enables high-resolution, two-phase flow modeling with efficient performance. The simulations are validated against experimental data, showing that small shake flasks can replicate the shear stresses of larger bioreactors. This makes them valuable for designing scale-down experiments that mimic production conditions and support the scale-up of stem cell therapies.
