The Siemens Functionality Guide for Building Automation in Modern Commercial Buildings is a tool for building owners to future-proof and maximize the value of their assets by making conscious and long-term decisions regarding the functionality and technical infrastructure of their properties. The document provides an overview of how automation can create value in the building and is designed to facilitate the client organization's work with requirements and provide a basis for further discussion with consultants and contractors.

This version is updated with:

  • The European standard EN 15232 was replaced from September 2022 with ISO 52120-1, which classifies buildings from a minimum level up to the highest level based on energy performance.
  • The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's requirements for all new buildings from 1 January 2022 must be the climate declaration according to the European standard EN 15978, which takes into account a building's environmental performance throughout its life cycle.
