The SF6 transition: reasons and challenges

For anybody who is using electrical MV switchgear and is interested in sustainabiltiy.

On-demand webinar

With the discussion in Europe and USA of phasing out SF6 as insulating gas for electrical equipment, we'll discuss the reasons for the phase out, as well as the challenges for the SF6-free transition: for the equipment suppliers in evolving their equipment without SF6, and for the end-users for the SF6 end-of-life.

Prepare yourselves for one of the most important technical challenges of the electrical industry

Agenda

  • Why do we need the SF6 transition?
  • The challenges behind the development of SF6 free gas insulated switchgears
  • Why natural-origin gases are the best alternative to SF6 gas
  • What will happen to SF6 at its end-of-life: how do we dispose safely of SF6 on site, and what are the alternatives for its disposal?
