The final verification process of a completed chip design needs an error free validation procedure for the golden DRC and LVS run. Updates or enhancements inside the golden DRC and LVS scripts during the chip development should be applied. Reused subcells might miss these updates. The final data will be written into the tapeout data directory inside the project controlled by scripts running inside the used EDA environment. All check results of toplevel will be written to this directory. But the waiver data bases, black box definitions nor the rule decks will be part of these data. The results might depend directly from the version of the used iPDK version.

A Calibre based sign off scripts collecting all the used data including GDSII, spice netlist, waiver, blackbox definition and latest rule decks has been introduced. The DRC batch run based on the collected data was performed independent from the project. As a result you got a tarball containing all the data performing the DRC run hooked on the latest updates of DRC rules for the desired process. The LVS batch run based on the collected data was performed independent from the project. This results also in a tarball containing all the data performing the LVS run hooked on the latest updates of LVS rules for the desired process. A simple transparent way of a second source verification will improve the tapeout procedure and we will have a result generated directly form the data passed to the foundry.
