Manufacturing and Automation

This manufacturing course is designed to provide students with experience in the creation of a design, prepare the design for machining and design the automation necessary to control the process. This course will challenge students to collaboratively solve design problems working in teams to research and report findings, and will prepare students to obtain Siemens PLC and Solid Edge certifications. The Siemens manufacturing course utilizes various Siemens’ software as tools for problem solving and preparing solutions. The goal of the course is the application of the tools to address unique problems allowing the students to rapidly create and analyze proposed solutions.

Course requirements

This instructor-led course will be hosted in the University of South Carolina. Prior engineering experience is not required.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Siemens Engineering Design course.

Please plan to attend each day of your selected course dates, as each day builds on the previous day. A certificate for continuing education credits (CEUs) will be provided upon completion of the course.

We recommend using a mouse. CAD is nearly impossible to run with a touchpad.
