Milk, cheese, energy: efficient and flexible food production

Breitenburger Milchzentrale (BMZ) optimizes energy consumption and supply

High-quality cheese production for the food industry using milk from regional farmers: these are the core business activities of Breitenburger Milchzentrale (BMZ). Dairy products have been marketed through a regional cooperative since 1879, and the dairy in Itzehoe is the heart of the cooperative. It processes over 200 million kilograms of raw milk every year. With such an energy-intensive manufacturing process, a safe and efficient solution is needed, as well as for heating the production and administration facilities. Siemens supplies the appropriate hybrid boiler technology and a holistic energy strategy.
