In this presentation from U2U North America 2024, Ertugrul Demircan and Phillip La Place of NXP describes their advanced cloud architecture optimized for EDA workloads, particularly Calibre physical verification flows including nmDRC, nmLVS and PERC.

Optimizing performance of physical verification runs is an important factor in EDA and IT infrastructure cost reduction and compute costs become acutely visible with the transition of EDA workloads to the cloud. The presentation details the performance impact of network constitution, also secure access requirements and license allocation for the cloud architecture, while maintaining ease of use for our end users. It further describes the work NXP is undertaking with Siemens EDA to enable efficient utilization of CPUs in the NXP cloud network, and potentially reduce costs by utilizing "spot" remote instances with a robust recovery mechanism provided by the Calibre nmDRC flow.
