Using Library Manager in the Siemens EDA Workflow

Siemens EDA’s Library Manager enables a comprehensive data management solution for today’s Open Access (OA) designs and provides a robust interface to apply complex operations on layout and schematic views. Complete sets of operations such as create, copy, rename, add, and delete can be done on libraries, cells, and views. In addition, version control operations including update, commit, revert, and review history can performed on any cell view or files. Library Manager can then open and synchronize with Siemens EDA’s S-Edit or L-Edit for editing schematic or layout views.

Overview of Library Manager GUI

Historically, Siemens EDA’s S-Edit schematic editor and L-Edit layout editor tools
were developed in a way that one didn’t need a separate library management tool, especially when only working in one of these tools. However, as Open Access became the only database for IC designers, applying the same library, cell, view, and instance operations for both S-Edit and L Edit became more difficult. Library Manager
consolidates Siemens EDA’s S-Edit and L-Edit Library Navigator windows as a
standalone tool.

Library Manager contains display options for expanded views, depending on what type of database information the user wants to review, sort or filter.
