Siemens cloud characterization on Amazon Web Services

Cloud computing platforms can drastically reduce library characterization runtimes. Use cases include leveraging high-performance computing (HPC) availability for off-loading peak characterization compute capacity needs from on-premise compute clusters as well as running high-priority characterization jobs significantly faster with “burst” compute capacity. As a result, library teams can complete characterization jobs that normally require several days to run within 24 hours.

Siemens’ AMS Verification team and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have collaborated to provide a scalable, secure and cost-effective cloud-based library characterization flow that enables users to leverage cloud computing resources to accelerate library characterization, reduce compute resource bottlenecks, and improve characterization runtime predictability.
