Dimension and integrate utility-scale battery energy storage systems

Discover the initial phases of a battery energy storage system project

On-demand webinar

This webinar is tailored for renewable energy suppliers and power utility professionals, including power system engineers, network planners, energy market specialists, asset managers, and independent power producers.

The future of energy grids will heavily rely on the ability to store energy. One effective method is through the use of battery energy storage systems (BESS). In this first part of our web series on battery storage systems, we will explore the integration of utility-scale BESS into the power grid. Through this session, you will gain insights into the various applications of BESS and discover the importance of grid simulations.

Join our technical experts, Tarik Donlagic, Dr. Martti van Blijswijk and Rafal Lubiatowski, as they guide you through the dimensioning and grid integration studies for battery energy storage systems.

Benefits

  • Find out how BESS can be applied to increase the technical and economic efficiency of energy systems
  • Learn more about battery dimensioning and grid simulation studies
  • Know how to efficiently integrate a BESS into a power system

Speakers and Moderators

Martti van Blijswijk - Grid Software PTI

Dr. Martti van Blijswijk is a Senior Consultant at Siemens PTI with extensive experience in strategic energy infrastructure planning. As an energy economist he seeks to apply a holistic approach to power systems planning, in which the many options that are available for decarbonization of the energy supply are applied to the correct extent and in the right proportions depending on the case at hand, while giving due consideration to the inherent uncertainty that is typically associated with infrastructural investment decisions.
