Nextbase streamlines PCB design with PADS Professional and Connect

Tiempo estimado de visualización: 3 minutos

Nextbase is a market leader in connected car technology and driving intelligence. The company offers in-car devices and smart dash cams, focusing on driver wellbeing and safety. They have a global team, with many of its engineers in the UK and some in other locations, and when the team started to grow, it was initially using an ad-hoc mix of different design software. They were struggling with an inefficient workflow, both internally and externally when working with contractors and their silicon suppliers.

The move to PADS Professional and Connect

One of Nextbase’s main suppliers was using PADS, so after discussions with them, they decided to use the PADS Professional platform for their PCB design flow. PADS Professional was an easy decision given its proven industry track record.

However, even after the successful implementation of PADS Professional, Nextbase still faced collaboration challenges as design data was being emailed back and forth with efforts to implement and manage version controls. It was inefficient and more open to human error. That’s when Nextbase decided to take the next step to use the integrated native cloud application, Connect (built on AWS cloud services) along with PADS Professional.

Connect provided the flexibility to work with remote teams around the world, contractors, and key silicon suppliers. Watch the video to hear the full story.
