Implementing Mixed-Safety Critical Systems in an Automotive Design

Nucleus Multicore Framework Cert Add-on separates critical systems in an embedded design

In the past, users would be forced to certify the entire design (both safety-critical and non-safety critical components) to meet functional safety requirements for the overall project; or divide the system into two separate designs, with associated separated hardware to ensure isolation of the safe and non-safe systems. Both of these approaches lead to longer project certification times, and higher costs. Today, users can keep safe and non-safe systems separate while still taking advantage of the consolidated systems in MPSoCs using Siemens Embedded Nucleus™ Multicore Framework Cert Add-on to separate the safe subsystem from the non-safe subsystem. This results in faster design completion and reduced certification costs and time.
