Bitcoin mining requires massive computations to maintain blockchain consensus and security, and performance competitiveness is determined by processing speed and power efficiency. Traditional RTL design methods allow for fine-grained control, but they have limitations such as long development periods and low flexibility. As an alternative, High-Level Synthesis (HLS) is gaining attention, and Catapult HLS enables algorithms to be defined at a higher level and automatically optimizes hardware architectures. This approach automatically applies pipelining, parallelization, and resource optimization, significantly improving design productivity and performance. This document analyzes efficient design strategies and structural advantages for Bitcoin miners based on the Catapult HLS approach.
