PERC LDL auto-waivers flow applied to voltage dependent rules in BCD technologies

Estimated Watching Time: 20 minutes
STMicroelectronics presents at U2U Europe 2024

The waiver flows are key tools to filter the checks which are classified as waivable by the foundry or by the designer. As part of BCD PDK development activities, providing the best possible user experience is one of our priorities. Waiving errors that are classified safe to waive can contribute to reducing the amount of debug time spent by our users to verify the whole project. Calibre Auto-Waivers manages waivers by generating waiver shapes that are merged with your design so that you can apply the waivers automatically during a verification run. The peculiarity of our PERC LDL flow obliges us to use the dedicated waiver flow, instead of the DRC waiver flow.

In this presentation we will talk about Calibre Auto-Waivers tool applied to PERC LDL flow, especially the geometry waivers (LDL-DRC), and our work experience with this tool.

We will show how we set the tool and how we created our customization of the new Calibre PERC GUI, totally coded with the new Qt/Javascript widgets provided by Siemens EDA, in order to help and to drive the user to handle waivers in his design in the best way.
