CO₂ emissions from shipping contribute 3 percent to total global greenhouse gas emissions and growing; innovations like this become critical. Another record-breaker is the Daniel K Inouye Solar Telescope, the world’s largest solar telescope, which has the opposite problem, too much energy in the form of heat to be dissipated.
