The NX™ Design software offers three preconfigured solutions: NX Design Standard, NX Design Advanced, and NX Design Premium targeted to specific product development disciplines and issues.

You can extend and improve the functionality of the NX Design solutions with over 100 add-on modules that enable solutions to be configured to specific requirements with specialized design tools and numerous solutions that are part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio.

Licensing options for NX CAD add-on modules

Extend the functionality of the on-premise NX Design solutions (NX Design Standard, NX Design Advanced and NX Design Premium) with add-on modules. We offer two licensing options for NX Design add-on modules:

Add-on modules are available for the cloud SaaS NX X Design solutions exclusively through NX X Value Based Licensing. Only token-enabled modules on the fact sheet are currently available for NX X.

Configure your NX Design solution to meet your design and product engineering needs with NX Design add-on modules. With flexible licensing available, you can mix and match perpetual and token licensing for a personalized NX solution.

Value based licensing in NX provides a cost-effective method for anyone to run a range of NX add-on modules. With just one single subscription price, you can access over 110 add-on modules in the token pool. Simply check-in and check-out modules on demand as needed. Add-on modules are regularly added to the token licensing pool each release without any additional cost.

There are several factors to consider when deciding how many tokens you’ll need in your total value token pool:

  • The total number of users who will need access to the total pool
  • What would be your typical ‘daily use’ NX products, and what would you define as the ‘occasional use’ NX products
  • A Value Based License pool is a viable choice when a wide variety of NX applications are needed to be ran.

    • Our general rule is that if you need 4 or more add-ons, tokens could be the best approach for you
