Using Teamcenter to reduce material request errors
Han’s Laser Technology Industry Group (Han’s Laser) is a Chinese company that supplies its customers with advanced industrial laser technology. The company has many project centers that provide equipment to different industry sectors, which created challenges in standardization management. The lack of product standardization led to long project management processes and ineffective control over the research and development (R&D) process. Additionally, material requests and consumption lacked transparency, making it difficult to manage project costs effectively.
Eingsoft IT built a strong relationship with the customer in the consultancy phase, which led to Han’s Laser choosing to work with Eingsoft IT and use Teamcenter. Eingsoft IT leveraged Teamcenter and the parts management module to define classifications and coding rules, which prevented Han’s Laser from mistakenly creating multiple codes for one item when requesting materials.
Eingsoft IT also demonstrated how Han’s Laser could use Teamcenter to standardize its review process, providing greater traceability and transparency in product development. Using Teamcenter to control bill-of-materials (BOMs) also enabled the customer to accu- rately track its material consumption and orders, helping create and adhere to project budgets more easily than before.
