“Siemens Digital Industries Software’s commitment to staying on the cutting edge of technology coincides with CAM Logic’s commitment to providing our customers with the most advanced features and functionality they need to succeed,” says Yvonne Wiedemann, president and owner of CAM Logic.
CAM Logic uses what they sell and sells what they use. With decades of experience in traditional manufacturing, CAM Logic teams deliver quality solutions to their customers. Below are two examples of how they implemented Siemens software and solutions while accelerating design times, development, programming and machining.
B&P Littleford LLC needed to compress design cycle time while maintaining creativity and meeting customer deadlines. As experts in Siemens Digital Industries Software’s Solid Edge, CAM Logic recognized what they needed. “It was clear that synchronous technology was the answer to their problem,” says Wiedemann about the migration of the new software. “We used their existing design files to demonstrate how utilizing Solid Edge could expedite their design process.”
B&P Littleford found they could use synchronous technology for 80 percent of their components, cutting development time in half.
“Solid Edge with synchronous technology turned out to be wonderful,” says Scott Samborn, senior mechanical design engineer at B&P Littleford. “It caused a complete shift in my way of thinking.”
JK Machining was using multi-axis computer numerical control (CNC) and returned to manufacturing experts at CAM Logic to consider moving to 5-axis machining to respond their customer demands to get to market faster. After reviewing their current processes, CAM Logic identified potential efficiencies available to them by adopting a fully integrated CAD and CAM solution.
To introduce an integrated NX solution, CAM Logic provided training and support for JK Machining’s first 5-axis CNC. The automation cut mold development by nearly 50 percent, reduced programming time from hours to minutes and cut machining time by up to four times.
“The support we get from CAM Logic is especially important when we get new versions of the software,” says Henry Kalkman, president of JK Machining. “They help us understand the new capabilities of each release and how we can best apply them.”
