A collaboration between Takeda Pharmaceuticals and the University of Strathclyde utilized Simcenter M-Star to investigate mixing times in miscible water–ethanol systems relevant to antisolvent crystallisation, combining large eddy simulations with laboratory-scale experiments for validation. The results show that Simcenter M-Star can reliably predict trends in mixing time with impeller speed and estimate the number of impeller revolutions required for homogenization, while capturing less variability than observed experimentally.
