Component-based transfer path analysis & virtual prototyping master class

MASTER CLASS

June 11-13, 2024 | Leuven, Belgium

The component-based TPA and virtual prototyping master class is a 3-day live training. It brings the NVH community together in the NVH facility in Leuven, Belgium, for theoretical lectures and insights from industry leaders. Supported by live demonstrations, interactive sessions, four hands-on workshops in small groups, and an expert panel discussion, it offers insights and best practices for going from physical prototype troubleshooting to virtual prototype prediction.

Why attend the component-based TPA and virtual prototyping master class?

Historically, NVH validation relied on physical prototypes, but building prototypes for today’s growing number of vehicle variants is impossible within a reasonable budget and timeframe. Electrified vehicles, though quieter, bring other noise sources to the attention. Additionally, modular platforms underscore the importance of vehicle controls in assessing NVH performance.

The industry is shifting towards modular development methods, creating invariant component models through simulations or tests. Although invariant, these models contain all the necessary data to predict NVH performance when put together in virtual assemblies. This Siemens educational master class addresses the industry's engineering needs towards the road to zero physical prototypes for NVH development.

The component-based TPA and virtual prototyping master class

Strengthen your expertise in C-TPA and virtual prototyping

  • The theory of component-based TPA and how to put this into practice for different applications
  • Implementation processes for virtual prototyping
  • Hands-on learning in small teams, showing best practices on different steps in the process of data collection, towards virtual prototyping, and more
  • Contributions from industry leaders
  • Panel discussion with technology experts
  • Networking with peers from across the globe

Hands-on workshops

To maximize interactivity, the workshops will be organized in smaller and rotating teams of a maximum of 10 persons.

  • Collecting data for blocked force characterization on a tire
  • Data collection on a receiving structure
  • Calculating blocked forces and preparation of components that can be used throughout the organization
  • Combining test & CAE data into virtual prototypes

Registration

The participation fee for this 3-day event is 2,000 Euro + VAT. It covers lectures, training materials, hands-on workshops, social networking opportunities, lunch, dinner and refreshments.
