Failure modes, effects and diagnostic analysis (FMEDA) is a method that helps reduce safety risk by systematically identifying and quantifying failure modes and effects. By integrating Modelwise into the Xpedition Designer/HyperLynx AMS tool chain, FMEDA can be run automatically, with higher precision, and profit from additional capabilities, such as early identification of safety goal violations
and FMEDA-based design optimization. This paper describes a workflow that streamlines the FMEDA process as demonstrated on a multi-block PCB design.
